Details of the Tour are included in the press release below.

For Immediate Release

Los Angeles, CA (July 31, 2014) – 4WT Media has announced today that Marty Lloyd of The Freddy Jones Band will lead a musical tour in support of their documentary, DRAIN.  The tour kicks off in August, visiting communities around the Great Lakes for intimate acoustic performances featuring new and classic songs from The Freddy Jones Band. Lloyd will be joined by Scott Kusmirek on drums, who toured and recorded with the Gin Blossoms.

The tour was imagined when Lloyd performed at a benefit concert for DRAIN in Wisconsin and became impassioned with the cause – raising awareness to preserve the Great Lakes. The connection for Lloyd was powerful as an artist who grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. He immediately recognized an opportunity to give back

“The Great Lakes are a public trust; they belong to all of us and it’s really our responsibility to make sure that this amazing resource remains viable,” said DRAIN director John Trefry in a recent television interview on Michigan’s TV 6. “Using the power of music will help spread the message to protect the Great Lakes which contain over 20% of the world’s fresh water.”

In addition, throughout the coming weeks, 4WT Media is encouraging fans to tag their quintessential Great Lakes photos via Twitter and Facebook with #DRAINfilm.  Favorite photos will be featured weekly on DRAIN’s social properties, and all submissions will be eligible to win a variety of prizes, including tickets to upcoming shows along the tour and DRAIN merchandise.

DRAIN is a feature-length documentary focused on raising awareness for the importance of the Great Lakes. A key issue for the film is historic low water levels in 2013 and actionable solutions to ensure further drops don’t jeopardize the future of the lakes, which represent the largest body of fresh water on Earth. Despite a record winter, manmade alterations and dredging of interconnecting waterways have permanently lowered the Great Lakes. Proceeds from the film will go to support Restore Our Water International and other nonprofit groups dedicated to long-term solutions to restore the natural ranges of water levels of the Great Lakes.

Marty Lloyd is one of the founding members and lead singer of the roots rock group The Freddy Jones Band. The band’s rose to fame in South Bend, IN with their first Major Label Release on Capricorn Records was produced by JUSTIN NIEBANK, and scored a radio hit with “In a Daydream”. Several albums on Capricorn followed, and 1995′s North Ave. Wake-Up Call and 1997′s Lucid both attracted some radio airplay (with the songs “Waitress” and “Mystic Buzz”) as well as cracking the upper echelons of the Billboard charts.

Scott Kusmirek grew up on the shores of Lake Superior and began his music career performing with local bands that led him to Tempe, Arizona where he eventually became the Gin Blossoms touring and recording drummer. Kusmirek recorded and toured with the band from 2001 through 2009. Kusmirek has also recorded and toured with When in Rome and John Popper of Blues Traveler.

4WT Media, is a production company specializing in creating high impact video content for advertisers like Google, AT&T, McDonald’s and other Fortune 500 brands. The documentary DRAIN evolved from 4WT Media’s CEO John Trefry’s family ties to the Great Lakes. The project recently completed a successful crowdfunding campaign and is scheduled for nationwide release in 2015.
